CHINA SOUL: China Soul, the daughter of actors David Soul and Julia Nickson, was born in Tampa, Florida and raised in Los Angeles. Since moving to London in 2007, China has built an outstanding live reputation and appearances on such shows as the Jools Holland and Dermot O'Leary BBC Radio Two shows have cemented her reputation as a real name to look out for.

China Soul released her debut album, Secrets & Words, on 25th October 2010. The tracks on Secrets & Words showcase China’s richly expressive and distinctively soulful voice and the album is steeped in the sound of West-Coast 70’s folk-rock while still managing to feel vibrant and contemporary. Co-written with Blockheads legend Chaz Jankel, Secrets & Words draws on China’s inspiration from such artists as Bob Dylan, Ray Charles and Tracy Chapman, while remaining uniquely personal to her. The album, Secrets & Words, heralds the arrival of a special new talent on a record that is soulful to its very core.
