After the Christmas Wipe Out, don’t stress about New Year’s Eve. Instead, join the surfer girls and beach boys at the Thunderbolt for an awesome community NYE party, from 8.00pm-1.30am.

There’s a BEACH PARTY going down, with live music from ace garage-groove surfer-dudes, THE DUKES OF MUMBAI, supported by a crustaceous crew of local DJs, playing a simmering stew pot of reggae, ska, funk, soul, disco and indie – basically, all your favourite party bangers.

And when you need a break from the dancing, pop into the beach-themed photo booth or head out to the garden for fun, games and a totally tropical chill out area, complete with Tiki cocktail bar and fire pit.

Plus, the Thunderbolt will be hosting a ‘tropical fancy dress’ contest, so get on your hula skirts, Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses – the tackier the better!

Tickets are just £10 in advance from Bristol Ticket Shop (www.bristolticketshop.co.uk) or £12 on the door. But get your tickets early, as this event is sure to sell out.

DUKES OF MUMBAI: You can expect the same mix of high energy ‘60s surf pop instrumentals, classically influenced by the likes of Dick Dale and Link Wray, with a few surprise nuggets thrown in from further afield. The band are delighted to be on UK soil once more following their recent deportation from the US.
