In this multimedia, live music and spoken word presentation, Natalie Davis (Vocals) and Dave Merrick (Guitar) will introduce and perform live some of the early ‘Classic Blues’ songs of Bessie Smith that influenced Billy Holiday and some of the Blues influenced songs that Billy then made her own. We will include live video footage of both Bessie Smith, and Billie Holiday, and audio video footage of some of the earliest recorded Classic Blues music. Our main emphasis, though, will be on live performances of more than a dozen women’s Blues classics. Come and join us on a Blues journey through the twenties, thirties and beyond.

Natalie will Davis (Vocal), Dave Merrick (Guitar) and Brendan Whitmore (Sax) wil play a selection of blues and jazz songs from the 'Great American Songbook'. In doing so they will perform songs from, and show some slides and video of, famous women performers who crossed from Blues and Gospel to Jazz. Most of all they are planning a fun evening of two full sets of retro jazz and classic blue. Come and join in the fun. Tickets £7 and £5 concession.
