Indie icon and charismatic frontman of the Wonder Stuff has the effortless knack of writing hits. These days he is following his own musical path with Erica Nockles rocking festivals and touring constantly with a brilliant hybrid of two great musicians playing off each other and all interspersed with Miles trademark banter.
During The Wonder Stuff’s year out in 2007 Miles Hunt and violinist Erica Nockalls released their debut album together ‘Not An Exit’. A 10 date tour quickly turned into an 18 month tour, pausing only to play a handful of Wonder Stuff shows. In 2009 Miles & Erica were back in the studio to record the follow up album ‘Catching More Than We Miss’ heralded by the music press as Hunt’s best work in his 21 year career. The duo hit the road again, touring the UK, USA, Europe and Japan before finally releasing their highly anticipated ‘Miles & Erica Live 2010/11’ in May of 2011. Touring continued around the globe once again in-between dates with The Wonder Stuff and the duo notched up no less than 150 shows in 2012.
In 2013, commitments around the acclaimed new band album “Oh No It’s…The Wonder Stuff”, the release of Erica’s solo album, “Imminent Room” and Miles penning his first book kept appearances as a duo to a minimum. 2014 and 2015 saw the couple hit the road with a vengeance playing over 200 shows across the UK as well as Miles’ book reading shows promoting the first of his series of books “The Wonder Stuff Diaries ’86 to ‘89”. If you have not read Miles Hunt's first book then get it...its a cracker! The book is an insight into The Wonder Stuff's fast moving and chaotic early years. The narrative is drawn from Hunt's own personal diaries, meticulously kept as the band began it's rise to fame.
2016 marks the 30th anniversary of The Wonder Stuff and will see a new album released entitled ‘30 Goes Around The Sun’ as well as a huge tour and shows in Japan. With the band concerts and festivals as well as album promotion throughout most of this year Miles & Erica will only be playing a handful of special shows. Make sure you catch them at The Thunderbolt on Thurs Oct 20th.
