This Land Is Your Land – The Woody Guthrie Story. Thursday April 11th Doors Open 7pm

Woody Guthrie (1912-1967) was the first protest singer in the USA to reach a mass audience. Bob Dylan in the USA and Billy Bragg in the UK are among the many songwriters who fell under his spell.

Woody was an active participant in the often violent and even lethal struggles of organized labour in 1930's USA. He was also a determined fighter against Fascism. On his guitar was emblazoned: "This machine kills Fascists" Dave Merrick (Narration, Guitar and Vocals) and Clive Mills (Guitar and Vocals) bring Woody back to life with live music, spoken word and film. Come and join us.

All proceeds go to Medical Aid for Palestine. The event is supported by Bridgwater TUC and its affiliated Trade Unions. Dave Merrick is a delegate to Bridgwater TUC from the Musicians Union.
