We are sad to hear that Vice Squad drummer Shane Baldwin died on 30th January 2024.

Shane was self taught with a unique style that gave Vice Squad recordings a very distinctive sound and he was the band member who got Vice Squad their first reviews in the music press by giving Garry Bushell a copy of Last Rockers.

Shane was a published author his book “Last Rockers: The Vice Squad Story” recieved many great reviews and contributed regularly to magazines like Record Collector and Vive Le Rock amongst others. He started Red Guitar Promotions and also played in Sweet Revenge and Chaotic Dischord.

Shane’s playing inspired many other young drummers to pick up sticks and beat out some furious Punk Rock and those early records of our’s will live on as a testament to the youthful second wave of U.K. Punk. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a celebration of Shanes life at the thunderbolt on SAT APRIL 13th 4-10pm.
